Thunder over the canyon, a photo by GP Images Photography on Flickr.
It was strange to watch this thunder storm, as I think this is possibly one of the best views I have had of a storm without actually being in it!It was taking place over the North rim of the Grand Canyon, when I was stood on the south rim about 10 miles away. The scale of the place is quite amazing, bit more than just a large ditch. For all I tried I was able to capture any of the lightning stikes taking place as well, but hey ho that's how things go at times.
I got to see sunrise and sunset over the Grand Canyon, they were nice and no doubt from other photos I have seen they can be pretty spectacular. But I think we can have some of the best sunrise and sunsets in the UK, where I now live in West Yorkshire and Northumberland where I was born. There are some outstanding areas to capture / watch and enjoy natures free show.
Take care all and thanks for dropping by.
Graham
