The Survivor

Seasons greetings to you all.

Well I thought I would get up one last post for the year. Another year almost gone, all the challenges and obstacles that have jumped in front of me this year have been made into good learning experiences. I have learnt some good processing tricks, as used in the photo for this post, I also believe that I am progressing on my compositional skills.

I am now thinking about what I want to achieve next year, how to improve and continue to learn. Also planning out some shoots for later in the year.
So everybody get your thinking hats on and get planning for the forth coming year ahead. I would love to go back to Iceland this year, but will have to figure out how to fund it, that will be my next challenge.

Thanks to all for dropping by and putting up with my rants or whatever. I hope you all have a great 2014.

If anyone has any ideas, then just drop me a line.

All the best

Graham

Fissures

This is one of the water filled fissures at Thingvellir rift valley in Iceland, this was only the start of my trip around the south coast of Iceland. I saw some amazing sites and I really hope to get back to see the palce in different seasons to see the changes that take place.

I have even got myself inspired enough to create a photobook showing the small selection of Iceland I was able to visit.

Please feel free to have a look at it

Thanks again for dropping by,

The greatest show on earth

One of the shots I took of aurora over Jökulsárlón glaicial lagoon, Iceland.

It was the only night of the trip that there was a show of aurora, so I was very lucky to be in a brill location to capture it.

Iceland is a fantastic place, full of so much scenery of all kinds and descriptions. Huge waterfalls, snow, ice, sea, mountains, black sand, more stuff a photographer could shake a stick at. I have to say all the Icelandic people I met were brilliant.

Now I have been, it's another on my list to revisit!
I will be posting my shots on my flickr pages www.flickr.com/photos/geordi69 and my website over the next week or so, so please drop by and have a look.

Thanks and have a good weekend

Portrait and Processing session

A up !

This is one of my shots of a couple of Halifax RLFC players I took the other week, so my thanks go out to both Lee and Rob.

This weekend helped turn my head a little bit more into processing images a different way can be highly beneficial for both my work flow and advancing my processing skills.

I love it when you get a chance to learn new stuff or even just reinforce your own knowledge. I fully believe if any one involved in photography says they don't need to learn anything more, they are just lying !

Mini rant over, my thanks also for this workshop goes out to Glyn Dewis and Keiron Nevison.

Thanks for dropping by.

Momentous

Momentous by GP Images Photography
Momentous, a photo by GP Images Photography on Flickr.

Evening all !

This image is from an light installation called Momentous, that is projected onto the front of Leeds Civic Hall.

The nine hour artwork features video footage of over 1200 Leeds people who were filmed at events across the city this summer. Momentous is created by Illuminos artists Matt and Rob Vale and is a Leeds Inspired project.

I was lucky enough to be able to get the shot crowd free, not often that happens with some thing like this !

Well, let see what my next post brings !!!

Thanks

Graham
